ACCIDENT KILLS THREE PEOPLE, INJURES 30 IN KYEGEGWA

Three people died and several others sustained injuries after a Fuso Truck carrying mourners overturned in Kakoni Village Mpara Sub-county, Kyegegwa District on Wednesday night.

The Fuso track Reg. No UAV 306A was carrying 109 passengers from Mbarara on their way to Kyijongobya Mpara Sub-county Kyegegwa District for the burial.

Police said that the driver failed to negotiate the corner and the vehicle overturned several times killing one person on spot while other 32 got injured and were rushed to Mubende hospital, where two of them were pronounced dead.

The deceased have been identified as Robert Mugabe, 45, Muzafri Ndyasiima, 45, and one only identified as Varesto male, 38 all residents of Mwizi Rwampara, Mbarara.

Lydia Tumushabe the Rwenzori West police spokesperson said that the truck driver only identified as Gordon is currently on run while the wreckage of the vehicle is packed at Bujubuli police station as investigations continue.
