AFTERMATHS OF AGE LIMIT: BISHOP MUHIRWA WARNS MPS TO RESPECT VOTERS’ VIEWS

Only few days after the ruling national resistance Movement used its numerical strength to attain the two thirds majority as member of parliament to pass a contentious age limit bill to lift the lower and higher presidential age limit from the constitution, the fort portal dioceses Bishop the Rt.Rev. Dr. Robert Muhirwa has asked political leaders to serve people’s interests.
The Bishop said that the leaders should take the people as their priority but not have selfish interests.
The man of God asked the public to keep peace and calm towards the constitutional amendment.
He was speaking to journalists during a press conference held at his residence in Virika South division Fort portal municipality.
The age limit bill was intended to scrap off the age limit for presidential candidates above 75 and above 18.
