Kinkizi diocesan bishop Dan Zoreka has asked MPs who voted in favour of removing age limit from the constitution to reconsider their decision and focus on the interests of all Ugandans over the matter.
In his Christmas message the bishop who said that the move annoyed the clergy, noted that it’s not too late for the 317 MPs to rethink and consider the voices of their people for purposes of promoting peace in the country.
He appealed to God to give President Museveni another sense of direction and stop him from assenting to the bill which believes is causing restless among the citizenry
Bishop Zoreka asked Christians to use this Christmas to reflect on what they have done for the country and what they are supposed to do in helping the country live in peace and harmony for development.
Rt.Rev. Zoreka who also said that the country is heading into a ditch if leaders do not look back at themselves and stop the deadly corruption noted that when the constitution is amended several times would lose its meaning and instead promote the interests of an individual.
The Christians in the diocese led by former prime minister to donate a Toyata land cruiser Prado reg. number UBB 871T to the Bishop.
Handing over the car to the bishop at the diocese headquarters at Nyakatare, Kinkizi west MP James Kaberuka who represented Amama Mbabazi challenged NRM to instead use its numerical strength in parliament to improve health services and eradicate poverty in the country rather than promoting political interests of an individual
