AGE LIMIT WAR: BUSHENYI NRM SUPPORTERS BEAT RED RIBBON PEOPLE WITH STICKS

Police in Bushenyi have defused fracas between NRM supporters and a group of people in red bandanas who oppose plans to remove presidential age limit.
The war ensued when a group of NRM supporters led by Mohamed Lukwago and Rozio Nshemereirwe came wielding sticks and started beating anyone with a red ribbon before police intervened and impounded a bunch of sticks and took it.
Lukwago is the NRM chairman Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality whereas Nshemereirwe is also the chairman for Ishaka division.
All MPs from Bushenyi district are today holding a joint consultative meeting on the controversial age limit bill at the district headquarters.
A number of boda boda cyclists in the town are putting on yellow ribbons while some in red as a sign that they don’t support plans to remove age limit from the constitution of Uganda.
However, when contacted, the RPC greater Busshenyi Eddie Serunjogi said police is read to provide security for all people in regardless of their differences on the Age limit bill.
