IAM FEMINIST BUT WOMEN MUST RESPECT THEIR HUSBANDS—– MINISTER KAROORO

The minister of general duties in the office of prime minister and the woman mp for Bushenyi district, Canon Mary Karooro Okurut, has challenged women to always respect their husbands as it was done by their predecessors. “Am a feminist but women must respect their husbands for families to be peaceful and successful,” she said.
Karooro also said that men should have bigger voices in their families although women can also give developmental ideas.
She said this at Tuzza Hotel during a wedding reception of Mr. Amanyisa Zadock a renowned former journalist of daily monitor and also the new communications and information officer at West Ankole Diocese, who wedded Ruth Amanyisa at all saints greater Bushenyi Church.
Karooro gave the couple a cow as a gift.
Bishop Johnson Twinomujuni, the bishop of west Ankole diocese warned newly wedded couples to stop the habit of bewitching their husbands in a bid to make them accept whatever they say.
He added that marriage is such a precious thing that is un comparable thereby urging whoever has got it should handle it with care.
The function was as well attended by the Minister of innovation science and technology, Dr. Elioda Tumwesigye, Buhweju MP, Mwijukye Francis, former Bushenyi LCV aspirant Paul Kahiigi, director St. Agnes Girls SS and diocesan secretary Rev. Canon Athur Twiine among other dignitaries.
