AMB. KATUNGWE: DON’T RUN AS INDEPENDENTS, RALLY BEHIND FLAG BEARERS

The deputy head of mission to Benelux countries and European Union in Brussels Ambassador Franklin Katungwe has refuted allegations against him that he said that all those who lost in NRM primaries should contest as independents against flag bearers.

He noted that for him he advises those who lost to rally behind the flag bearers for the unity of the party.

He said this last evening during a wedding ceremony of Willy and Stella Bananukire, children of his late friend held at peak hotel in Bushenyi town.

Katungwe acknowledged challenges in the NRM primaries but reminded losers that the best solution is to rally behind the flag bearers so as to build the party.

The ambassador also advised the losers to wait for another election in 2025 and prepare well for that election then they can win.

Ambassador Katungwe recently speaking to www.mknewslink.com said that he witnessed challenges in NRM parliamentary primaries which needed to be corrected for the good of the party.

So far NRM has held Primaries for MPs; district Chairpersons, LCV Councilors, City Mayors plus division Mayors. Tomorrow Sept 14^th 2020 NRM will hold elections for municipal mayors, Division chairpersons and their councilors.
