The deputy head of mission for Benelux countries and European Union in Brussels has warned school owners not to over increase school fees since parents don’t have money because of the hard times they went through.
He said this in an exclusive interview with www.mknewslink.com managing director today 28th Sept. 2022 at his home in Kyeitembe Bushenyi district.
Amb. Katungwe noted that schools shouldn’t imagine that because of increase in price, parents incomes have also increased.
He added that schools should be patient with parents and accept partial fees payments such that children don’t fail to study because parents have not paid.
He noted that inflation is not only in Uganda but across the world citing out that a kilogram of matooke is now 20,000shs in Brussels Belgium instead of 2.5 euros.
He noted that fuel prices have increased all over the world even in America and Europe therefore Ugandans should stay calm and wait for solutions from the government.
He revealed that COVID 19 disorganized everything because people spent two years spending without earning and now the effects are being manifested in the current inflation.
