AMB. KATUNGWE, WIFE MARGRET CELEBRATE 44 YEARS IN MARRIAGE, DIPLOMAT’S 70TH BIRTHDAY
The function held at his home preceded a prayer service presided over by the bishop of west Ankole diocese Rt. Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni
The bishop in his message called upon the people who attended the function to love one another, avoid jealous and always fear God because He is the master of everything.
The Member of Parliament for Bushenyi Ishaka municipality Derrick Kabura Baimukye called upon people of Bushenyi to avoid unnecessary fights which are derailing developments in Bushenyi district.
He noted that Ambassador Katungwe has mentored him in politics and contested with his son Marvin Baryaruha but the ambassador rallied behind him after Marvin lost in primaries.
Joram Tibasiimwa the Member of Parliament for elderly western Uganda congratulated Ambassador Katungwe and his wife Margret upon celebrating 44th marriage anniversary.
Joram Tibasiimwa noted that he had copied a lot from the function and will also invite guests next year to celebrate 80 years and thanking God for giving him
He added that he thanks God because he is almost the second eldest MP out of 500 plus MPs Uganda has.
Jaffari Bassajabalaba the district chairman for Bushenyi congratulated ambassador Katungwe and thanked him for bringing him gifts like beautiful shirts which he puts on and people think he is a president from developed countries.
Can. Dr. Apollo Mutungirehi Rushambuza a prominent businessman from Kampala and relative of Katungwe revealed that the two families of Rushabuza and Ruhinguza have been there for many years and called upon family members to cement it the more.
The chairman of the organizing committee of the function counsel Marvin Baryaruha called upon the people of Bushenyi to remain united for development.
He added that he contested with Derrick Kabura and lost and now he is his MP and called upon him to join him and develop Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality.
Ambassador Katungwe hailed the people who came to attend his two in one function and gave out 2 million to the church to add the day’s offertories and buy seats for the choir.
He noted that he married his wife in 1978 as a very humble man because he had a small traditional house with one door but worked hard and grew financially.
The children led by Shillah Katungwe congratulated the parents and noted that they have been taught on how to love each other in their families because of how their mother and father have been loving each other.
The IGG Betty Oliver Turwomwe Kamya , commissioner in charge of road transport and safety Winston Katushabe , Willis Bashasha the director manifesto implementation, Obadia Ntebekine Rushambuza , Emeritus bishops; Yona Katonene, Magambo, MPs; Kateshumbwa of Sheema municipality , Robert Rukari of Mbarara city attended the function.
