AMERICAN EMBASSY ORGANIZES PUPILS’ TECHNOLOGY COMPETITIONS

United states Embassy in Uganda has organized a competition for primary schools in Kampala.
The competition is aimed at promoting the U.S. Mission’s commitment to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), the U.S. Embassy.
The activity is organized in partnership with City Parents School. It is code named pinewood derby competition for 250 children from primary schools in and around Kampala.
The pinewood derby is an event where children make their own cars from wood, usually from kits containing a block of pine, plastic wheels, and metal axles, and race them against each other in organized heats. The program encourages young children to experiment with engineering.
This event will take place at City Parents School on Saturday, April 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. Each participating primary school (25 schools in total) will be represented by five girls and five boys, ages 8-10.
