The Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) Party is hunting for 700 million shillings to fund the nomination of their aspiring Members of Parliament.
According to the ANT party National Coordinator, also the party President, Major General Gregory Mugisha, the needed funds are for paying the mandatory 3 million shillings nomination fees for each party aspirant on the Member of Parliament positions among other intentions.
Muntu revealed this Wednesday speaking with the media during a meeting for all ANT Kigezi region coordinators with the National party leadership held at Heras Country Resort in Southern division Kabale municipality.
Muntu noted that the 3 million nomination fee is a burden to some aspirants especially due to the COVID 19 crisis. He added that the financial constraints of some individuals should however not be a reason for societies to be denied good leadership.
Muntu said that the party has resorted to fundraising from willing Ugandans, Non-Governmental Organisations, and any other willing bodies so that the required funds are raised before the nomination deadline.
The Kasese District Woman Member of Parliament Hon Winnie Kiiza asked all Ugandans to contribute all they can manage for the success of the party principles and better leadership of Uganda.
