ARCH BISHOP LAMBERT CONSECRATED, MINISTER MAGYEZI WARNS POLITICIANS AGAINST BUYING VOTERS IN NEXT ELECTIONS

Minister for local government who doubles as MP for Igara west constituency,
Raphael Magyezi has warned politicians to stop buying voters, noting that it’s a bad vice that must be fought by all Ugandans
He said this today during the consecration of the new archbishop of Mbarara arch diocese His Grace Lambert Bainomugisha at the arch diocese headquarters Nyamitanga cathedral today 20th June 2020.
His Grace Lambert was succeeding his grace Paul K Bakyenga who has been at the helm of the diocese for 30 years as a bishop and arch bishop respectively.
Magyezi went ahead to warn all corrupt leaders in the country to either vacate the country or repent the vice. He also warned people of Mbarara as they are preparing for a city status to shun all corrupt actions and leaders.
The minister who was representing the president of Uganda HE Yoweri Museveni at the above function also urged Ugandans to desist from divisionism and segregation.
The president gave the new arch bishop a brand new car and a cash prize of 1o million while the outgoing arch bishop was given 10 million cash prize.
Arch bishop Lambert applauded the outgoing Arch Bishop Bakyenga for mentoring him and leading well the Arch diocese.
Bakyenga said that he will retire from St. Kaggwa Parish and will staying in Fr. Pascal Betunga’s house.
Other diginotories present at the function included ministers Kahinda Otafiire, John Byabagambi and Prof. Tarsis Kabwegyere, MPs; Francis Mwijukye, Tomath Tayebwa; tycoon King Ceaser Mulenga, M.D NWSC Eng. Silver Mugisha head of laity Mbarara Arch Diocese Gilverse Ndyanabo among others.
