ARCHBISHOP BAKYENGA CLOCKS 50 YEARS IN PRIESTHOOD, HANDS OVER OFFICE TO HIS GRACE LAMBERT

Emeritus Archbishop of Mbarara Archdiocese His grace Paul Kamuza Bakyenga yesterday celebrated 50 years in priesthood and handed over office officially to Archbishop Lambert Bainomugisha.
The colorful function took place at Nyamitanga cathedral grounds and was presided over by the prime minister of Uganda Robinah Nabanja.
Nabanja who represented the president delivered 60 million cash and pledged 100 million on behalf of the president. She contributed 20 million in cash and pledged 30 million.
The fundraising was meant to raise money to renovate the oldest church which was built in the 1920s by the missionaries.
The fundraising for the civil servants was led by the Eng. Dr. Silver Mugisha the NWSC MD while Chief whip Thomas Tayebwa led politicians.
The function was attended by various religious leaders such as Yonah Katonene Emeritus Bishop for West Ankole, Didas Natweta who represented Bishop Johnson Twinomujuni of West Ankole, Sheldon Mwesigwa of Ankole diocese was represented by the diocesan Dean.
