ARCHBISHOP NTAGALI DEFEATS WEST ANKOLE DIOCESE CANONS IN HIGH COURT

Archbishop of the church of Uganda his grace Stanly Ntagali this evening Nov. 08, 216 won a case filed against him in the high court in Kampala accusing him of taking over Episcopal jurisdiction of west Ankole diocese unlawfully.
In her ruling, Justice Lydia Mugambe noted that the archbishop was constitutionally right to take over the diocese of westAnkole.
Still, she ruled that the head of Anglican church in Uganda had powers to appoint commissaries to held him lead west Ankole diocese.
The archbishop and his lawyers were awarded costs which would be determined by court after.
The dismissal with costs the archbishop to continue with his confirmation tour of Sheema district tomorrow.
The judgment also gives him powers to become the Bishop of west ankole diocese as until a new bishop is elected.
