The Archbishop of the Anglican Church the Most Reverend Stanley Ntagali has added his voice to the rest of the Ugandans to condemn the proposed Miss Curvy Uganda beauty pageant.
Miss Curvy Uganda beauty pageant is a proposal to market curvy and sexy Ugandan women as tourism attraction products.
In his opinion and on behalf of the church, the archbishop stressed that the contest undermines the dignity of women and all that them as a church have worked for to advance girl child education.
According to him, it is a disgusting display of exploitation and brings shame upon families and Uganda as a country.
The man of God added that to present such a programme is to demonstrate how low we have fallen as a country insisting that it should be cancelled.
Simon Lokodo, the state minister for ethics and integrity had earlier on said the contest “definitely could not happen noting that its shameful and he strongly condemns it.
Lokodo also noted that it demeans women and completely destroys their integrity.
“You cant bring people from abroad to come and see the physiognomy of your people [women],”Lokodo angrily reacted to the proposal.
