ARCHBISHOP NTAGALI WARNS RUKUNGIRI X-ANS AGAINST CONTINUOUS LAND GRABING

The Archbishop of the church of Uganda His Grace Stanley Ntagali has
expressed dismay over people who have heartless continued to grab land
and property of the poor people.
While talking to Christians during a mass held at Bucence C.O.U In
Rujumbura, Rukungiri district, Ntagali said the act is a one form of
corruption because many people have been forcefully evicted from their
land leaving them displaced and homeless.
He said grabbers have come up with a system of making duplicated land
titles to disown property from the poor who are incapable, which he
strongly condemned.
Ntagali also expressed worry over the increasing cases of domestic
violence which he said are fueled by couples who are not faithful and
end up cheating on their spouses.
He explained that the Church and government in this New Year are
focusing at partnerships to have cases of domestic violence reduced.
The Archbishop is currently in the diocese of North Kigezi ahead of
consecration ceremony of the newly elected Bishop, Rev.Can.Benon
Magezi due on Sunday 8th January.
Can. Benon Magezi is replacing Bishop Patrick Tugumetusingwiire and
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to be the guest of
Honour.
