The Auditor general of Uganda John Francis Semwezi Muwanga and his wife Hilda Muwanga are embroiled in land disputes with two individuals in Wakiso District.
Muwanga, 62 years and his wife are entangled in these very bitter land disputes with one Francis Bukenya who says his fathers land of Nalubudde of Ssisa sub county of Wakiso was allegedly transferred to Muwanga fraudulently.
He said that him being the heir and eldest and existing son of Adereya he did not witness the sale nor the Local council officials.
Mr. Muwangas claims to this land as the landlord is very bogus and I will not rest until justice is bestowed to me and my father family
Court cases, illegal arrests and trumped up charges will not deter me and Adereyas family to regain our land status as landlord of the four acres of land he added.
In the second instance, the Muwangas are fighting a Kibanja holder one Juma Nsimbi on approximately 3.5 acres of land. Juma claims that he bought the same land from Bukenya. And according to documents seen by our reporter and LC correspondences it confirms that Bukenya sold to Juma.
The two in an interview with www.mknewsslink.com said they are ready to fight Muwangas in the face of any threat and will not give up on their land rights. Bukenya is said to have sold the piece of land to Juma in 2001 at 5 million.
While the Muwanga say they bought the 4 acres of land from Mzee AdereyaYiga himself in 2007. Bukenya said at the time his father was 88 years saying his daddy was born in 1918.
Hilda Muwanga aka Johnson said they bought land from AdereyaYiga and Sempebwa and company advocates were involved in the sale agreement and that Bukenyas step mother Goretti Namuli witnessed the sale and that Muwangas paid 8 million for the first 3 acres and an additional one at 8.5million for the fourth acre.Muwanga did not talk to www.mknewslink.com on phone saying he was in a meeting last week.
Bukenya said he sold the land to treat his daddy who was old sick and weak and wonders how he could sale land to Muwanga without his knowledge.
I looked after my father and sold part of my Kibanja to treat him. So how could my father sale land when he was weak, old and sick to Muwanga?, he wondered.
Bukenya said LCs too do not recognize Muwangas purchase which they were never involved in together with the family of AdereyaYiga.
He said the signature which he saw in the transfer letters of the title to Muwanga from the name of his father purported to have been signed by MzeeAdereya is allegedly forged.
I want to look at the copy of the sale agreement Mr. Muwanga and his wife have not availed us a copy. I know no sale of land that was made by my father Mzee Adereya to the Muwangas Bukenya asserted.
He accused a man with a name that begins with P to have been behind the fraud of his fathers land. P is said to be a very dubious land dealer in the area.Juma and Bukenya have both been thrown in prison on several occasions and charged for criminal trespass and forgery and were granted court cash bail by Kajjansi Magistrates Court on exorbitant fee of sh 3000,000 twice totaling to sh 6000,000 is represented in court by Timothy Twikirize of Twikirize and company advocates.
Twikirize complained that if a billionaire is given court cash bond of sh 3000,000 why should a peasant such as his client Juma be charged the same amount of money by any court in a case of criminal trespass where he has a honest claim of right?!
Bukenya who was also imprisoned for a month said his father owned a huge chuck of land in the area which he secured in 1960s. Bukenyas own land was given to him by his father in 1982 part of which he sold to Jumas.
Hilda Muwanga promised to furnish www.mknewslink.com with documents pertaining the purchase of the land in question especially the purchase agreement through his lawyers to no avail by press time. She claims when they bought the land I had no squatters.
Juma complains that he has been barred from using his land (Kibanja) which has since been fenced off by the Muwangas with impunity even before the conclusion of the court cases.
