AUTHORITIES IN RUBANDA LAUNCH CONSTRUCTION OF SCECONDARY DORMIITORIES

Authorities in Rubanda district have Launched the construction of four dormitories for students at St John’s Secondary school Ikumba in Hamurwa Town Council, and St Andrew’s secondary school in Rubanda Town Council, a project costing about 600 million shillings.
The construction of two dormitories whereby one is for boys and the other for girls on both schools respectively.
During the function to handover the construction site to the contractors yesterday at St John’s Ikumba and at St Andrew’s S.S Rubanda, the Rubanda District LC.5 Chairperson Steven Ampeire Kasyaba said that the funds are part of the UGX 9 billion shillings additional funding to the district budget that was lobbied with help from the State Minister of Finance (general duties), Henry Musasizi who doubles as Rubanda District NRM Chairperson.
Speaking at the same function, the Rubanda Resident District Commissioner, Lilian Ruteraho, asked the contractors to execute the works with integrity, if they are to maintain a good working relationship with Government of Uganda and Rubanda authorities.
St. John’s S.s Ikumba Chairman Board of Governors, Dr. Augustine Kasyaba thanked the NRM party and Rubanda District Local Government for considering the school among those to benefit largely from this financial year, adding that the projects were long overdue.
St. John’s S.s Ikumba Head teacher Audath Ampeire hailed Government for listening to their cries for funding. Particularly, Ms. Ampeire thanked Minister Musasizi for playing a large role in their quest for take over from private school status to Government Grant aided, a process that was initiated in 2014, and accomplished in 2018.
