The Rubanda district Chairman Jogo Kenneth Biryabarema has decried the increasing encroachment on district land by residents.
Biryabarema, who was giving the state of district address yesterday 2nd May 2, 2018 at the district Rukiiko hall, said that various pieces of land located in different parts of the district as per the inventory prepared by Adios Kyomukama the Natural resources officer Kabale district on 24th March 2015, most of them have been encroached on by people.
Biryabarema, cited the 20 acres Kakima public land located at Mukotojo village in Ikumba sub county Rubanda district, which has been encroached on by a family without informing the district leaders.
He also cited 30 acres of land located the Rubanda town council that were acquired by private person and he said that as district they are investigating the matter to establish the process through which the private developer passed through to acquire the land.
He thus urged those interested in using the district land to follow the right procedures other than encroaching illegally.
Biryabarema also revealed Islamic Development Bank is to fund Nyamasizi-Nyakanengo-Kashongati in Nyamweru Sub County, Mukigwa-Nyamabaale-Bulimbe and Ikumba health centre III in ikumba Sub County and Kabale-Kagarama-Hakakomo-Kengoma and Kitagyenda primary school-Akambeho trading centre for rural electrification agency in the next financial year.
