AVIATION HEALTH RUN ENDS SUCCESSFULLY IN ENTEBBE

The Director general of Uganda Civil Aviation Authority.Mr. Fred Bamwesigye has hailed his organization’s and partners for holding aviation run.
Mr. Bamwesigye said this yesterday in a statement in relation to Aviation run that was held at Mayors Gardens in Entebbe.
This was a third edition of the Aviation run that was held in conjunction with Uganda Aeronautical Information Officers Association.
He noted that such health runs promote health lives amongst Ugandans and worker’s examples for people to run and protect their lives.
He hailed the Uganda Aeronautical Information Officers association for organizing the event and the proceeds will be used to promote the girl child in the districts of Namayingo and Budondo in Jinja district.
Mr. Bamwesigye applauded the partners who took part in run on the short notice and these are; DHL for partnering with us at such short notice, Entebbe Municipal Council, National Water & Sewerage Corporation, Clarkson, Uganda Wildlife Authority, Kajjansi Executive Aviation, Yalicos, China Communications Construction Company, Uganda Air Cargo Corporation, Menzies Aviation, Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, Air operators, schools, medical service providers, Ministries, Departments and Agencies and airport stakeholders, among others.
He acknowledged that the growth of the industry is also seen from the performance of passenger traffic, which is continuing to increase post COVID -19. In September 2024, Entebbe International Airport recorded a total of 188,710 passengers, of which 100,350 were arriving and 88,360 departing passengers, an average of 6,290 per day, compared to the 5,710 per day recorded in the same month of September 2023. Cargo recorded a total of 5,739 metric tonnes in September 2024 (93,701 exports and 2,038 imports).
