MP BAATA KAMATENETI DEMANDS REPORT ON ONGOING INVESTIGATIONS ABOUT NTUNGAMO DISTRICT CORRUPT OFFICIALS.

Kamateneti raised the concern in her message to voters ahead of the commemoration of international anti-corruption day.
According to MP Kamateneti, as Uganda joins the rest of the world to commemorate the anti-corruption day, the report about corruption in the district is worrying.
She further says that corruption in the district is worsening as it was reported that over 30 ghost health centers were created according to a statement from the ministry of ethics and integrity following an investigation by the State House anti-corruption unit.
Kamateneti meanwhile appreciated the efforts by the president Museveni, government and the anti-corruption unit but demanded for specific answers on how to end corrupt tendencies in Ntungamo and Uganda at large.
She tasked the officials to avail the list of the 31 ghost health centers, and the culprits behind their creation.
“Can we look at when these ghosts were created and who was in office at that time?”, Kamateneti questioned.
She added that the culprits must be named and held accountable otherwise Ntungamo shall keep singing the same song year in year out.
Kamateneti said that their other forms and tendencies of corruption like maternal deaths, poor performance in schools due to absenteeism of teachers who are paid by government, shoddy work by untouchable contractors, land grabbing by government officials among others.
She implored the anti-corruption agencies to walk the talk otherwise the district and country at large is heading for doom.
