BAMUGISHA COMMUNITY WELFARE CAMPAIGNS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

The Bamugisha Community Welfare Limited, one of the registered nongovernmental organizations in Bushenyi district has joined the rest in the country to take viral the environmental protection campaign through organizing football tournaments.
The foundation through the newly formed Bushenyi district sports council affiliated to National sports council started the initiative at the lower level and now competitions have reached at Municipality/ town council/ sub county/division level.
Today 4th December 2018, they have donated sets of sporting materials to all teams, a function that has been held at multipurpose hall in Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality.
Making the presentation, Mrs. Annet Katusime Mugisha, the director of the foundation who is likely to contest for Bushenyi district woman Member of Parliament seat recalled the foundations commitment to invest in the community to ensure sustainable development.
She said that the donation is a practical contribution to help teams with their sporting activities.
Katusime told the gathering that included all 14 Local council three chairpersons that football is the one activity uniting people of different ages, genders, social and cultural backgrounds in communities.
The Bushenyi district boss Jafar Bassajabalaba has commended the proprietors for being exemplary in complementing government efforts in restoring the environment.
Some of the delegations have commended the initiative saying since the tournament started many youth have stopped taking drugs and the rate of crimes has reduced.
