BAMUGISHA COMMUNITY WELFARE OPENS SACCO IN BUSHENYI

Bamugisha Community Welfare ltd a company which was started by the family of Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha, the managing director of national water and sewage cooperation yesterday opened a SACCO near St. Kagwa parish in Bushenyi town to help the people of Bushenyi save, develop and prosper.
According to the one of the directors of Bamugisha Community Welfare Mrs. Annet Katusiime Mugisha, the SACCO is called Bushenyi Bamugisha Community Welfare Beneficiaries SACCO.
She noted that the SACCO is fully registered and is a non partisan saying that it welcomes every one irrespective of religious affiliation, tribe and political party.
She added that it was started after two and half years of mobilization of people of Bushenyi to engage in saving money in village saving banks locally known as Obubokisi and that so far they have supported 1800 village saving banks in the entire Bushenyi district.
All the 617 villages in Bushenyi have village saving banks of youth, women, leaders and men.
According to Winfred Kyomukama the acting manager Bushenyi Bamugisha community welfare Beneficiaries, the SACCO has so far registered 301 members who have already opened accounts.
She called upon all village saving banks “Obubokisi” to open accounts in Bamugisha SACCO in order to have security for their money which is currently kept in village boxes.
Mrs. Annet Mugisha finally revealed that the SACCO will work with microfinance support centre, youth lively hood program and friends to make it a strong financial institution to help people get out poverty as it is their number one agenda of Bamugisha Community Welfare ltd.
