Born in a humble family with other 13 siblings by Harriet Namara Nimpamya who is currently a tailor in Ishaka and late Asaph K Nimpamya who was a UPC diehard and died in 1999 when Nyakahangura was in P.5
Academic background
All primary level at Kashenyi Primary School and finished it in 2001
Joined high school at Bishop McAllister College Kyogyera but studied there for only one term and went to Ngabo Academy due to luck of school fees
He later got a scholar ship from Can. Paul Jefferies and rejoined Bishop McAllister College from S.2 to S.6
In 2008 he joined Mbarara University of Science and Technology MUST and did Bachelors of Information Technology.
Nyakahangura also has two certificates in Software Engineering and Computer Networking and a post graduate diploma in Criminology plus short courses in Journalism
Work experience
He was been working with Tv West from June 2011 to July 2020 as Host Morning show (Sisimuka), Political show (Akadaara) and by the time of his retirement in July, he was a producer current affairs department.
He has been a member of parliamentary Press committee for seven years.
Leadership career
At Bishop McAllister College Kyogyera, he was Head Boy 2006, leader in debating club, Scripture Union, MDD and a prefect in his O’ level
He was also speaker of greater Bushenyi Uganda Secondary Schools Prefect Association (USSPA)
He is still the Old Students Representative on Board of Governors Bishop McAllister College Kyogyera
While at MUST, he represented his class on Guild government 2009/2010, Head of production and chairman church building students committee of Anglican Church in MUST
Political ambitions
He says that he planned joining politics long time ago and he is sure of winning the 14th January 2021 Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality MP
When asked about why he joined ANT not any other political party, Nyakahangura said that being a journalist, he got a chance of sharing with more than 13 president and other many big politicians who gave him different ideas and ended up deciding to join a new political party like Alliance for National Transformation which has the values he likes.
