In Kabale—
The Bishop of Kigezi diocese Rt. Rev. George Bagamuhunda has called upon Christians to take COVID 19 vaccination serious.
Bishop Bagamuhunda made the remarks yesterday while addressing journalists at Bishop’s office in Rugarama Hill Kabale municipality.
He urged Christians especially those above 50 years to take the government program serious since they are on high risk of contracting the disease.
Bagamuhunda noted that Christ went on the cross to redeem believers from the bondage of sins because he loved them thus they should also love one another as they celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
He requested Christians to learn to tolerate each other like the risen Christ instructs them, as they serve in various communities and offices they hold.
The Bishop of Ankole Diocese Rt. Rev. Sheldon Mwesigwa had earlier warned Ugandans to stop politicizing COVID19 vaccination program.
He advised that they should also disregard all the rumors on social media that the vaccine will pose health dangers to their bodies.
The Bishop said this on 29th March 2021 while speaking to journalists after taking his first jab of Astra Zeneca COVID 19 vaccine.
The Bishop who led a group of 15 other clergy received his Covid 19 shot at Mbarara Regional Referral hospital in Mbarara city.
“Am one of those who did not believe in the vaccination at first until I read and realized its importance,” The Bishop noted.
