Rev. Can. Kamwerinde the former archdeacon of Ryakasinga has regained his position after one year of demotion.
Rev. Kamwerinde has been serving in Bumbaire parish in demotion by the Bishop West Ankole Twinomujuni Johnson after he complained that the bishop was not right to fail confirmants at his archdeaconry in Ryakasinga.
Ryakasinga was the first ever church where the bishop refused to confirm over 100 confirmants.
Rev. Kamwerinde has been posted to Nombe archdeaconry in Kakanju Bushenyi district in a reshuffle that was announced by the bishop on Monday.
Recently, Rev. Can. Murungi also regained his position as the archdeacon of Bikungu mitooma district. Murungi was first given forced leave and was later demoted after rejecting the transfer from Kyabugimbi archdeaconry to Rweibare in Sheema because of the threats from Christians in Sheema.
