BISHOP KISEMBO ASKS PEOPLE TO PLANT TREES TO AVOID NATURAL CALAMITIES

The Bishop of Rwenzori diocese the Rt. Rev. Reuben Kisembo Amooti has encouraged people to plant more trees to avoid natural calamities like landslides, floods among others.
While preaching to hundreds of people who had turned up for the Christmas celebrations at St. Johns cathedral Fort Portal municipality, the Bishop said that people have destroyed the environment by cutting trees leading to death, loss of properties and displacement of people.
The man of God further asked people to give relief aid to the mudslides and landslides victims of Bududa and Bundibugyo districts that were affected early this month.
At least 17 people died in Bundibugyo and over 40 in Bududa while others were left homeless.
