In Kanungu—
Children of late Bishop of Kinkizi Diocese in Kanungu district Rt. Rev. John Ntegyereize are locked up in a property sharing row with their father’s widow hardly three months after his burial.
Bishop Ntegyereize, who was the first Bishop of Kinkizi Diocese died on May 6th 2021 at Bwindi Community hospital and was buried at his home in Kanungu district
Following his death two of his children Losi Arinitwe and Sarah Niwagaba together with Mpirirwe Priscilla a beneficiary of the estate of Bishop Ntegyereize have since petitioned the high Court in Kabale seeking to take over some of the properties left behind by the Bishop
These sued Bishop Ntegyereize’s widow, Ms. Pamela Doreen Ntegyereize and post bank Uganda where the deceased held a number of accounts
In the petition dated July 30th 2021 through their lawyer Jonathan Bwagi , the children claim among others that the widow is not in the right state mind to be left in charge of the family estate
These further told Court that their father held accounts with post bank, and that the widow had recently been carrying out transactions on these accounts which mount to intermeddling in the estate of the deceased.
As such, the deceased’s children seek an order for recovery of the sums so far withdrawn and a permanent injunction barring the two defendants from further transaction on the said accounts
High Court has given the defendants: Pamela Doreen Ntegyereize and post bank Uganda 15 days to file in written response from the date of service
“Should you fail to file a written statement of defence before the date mentioned, the plaintiff may proceed with the suit and judgment maybe given in your absence,” Reads the court summon.
Bishop Ntegyereize was married to the late Jocelyn Ntegyereize who died in 2013 and left with him four children .He later married Pamela Doreen Ntegyereize and had one child with her.
