BSU HOLDS SEMINAR TO SENSITIZE EDUCATION STUDENTS ON NEW SECONDARY SCHOOL CURRICULUM

Bishop Stuart University in collaboration with the ministry of education has organized a three day seminar to sensitize all students pursuing education on the new curriculum.
The seminar that started today 27th Feb. 2020 in the university main hall was attended by all the students from the faculty of education
According to Namanya Garry who is the national facilitator on the new curriculum from the ministry of education and sports,their main aim is to teach students about this new development as they are soon joining the teaching field.
Namanya went ahead to say that this curriculum is mainly learner centered and aims at testing the competence of learners.
When asked about changing the examination period from per term to yearly, namanya said that this will instead give learners ample time to revise hard.
Speaking in an interview to some of the students doing education, they said that making agriculture an elective subject was a mistake since it is the back bone of our economy.
The seminar which has started today 27th Feb. 2020 will run up to 29th Feb. 2020 on Saturday at Bishop Stuart university main hall
