BUHIMBA TECHNICAL INSTITUTE STUDENTS STRIKE, DEMAND FOR TRANSFER OF PRINCIPAL

Students of Buhimba Technical Institute -B.T.I in Kikuube district today morning went on strike demanding for immediate firing of their principal.

Students accused their Principal Akooki Anyomo of failure to organize practical training, provide them with safety wears, account for computers that were stolen from the school recently and conduct auto CAD lectures. 

They also said that last year when they went on strike, they were promised that the principal would be transferred, however when they reported back this year in first term they were shocked to find him in the Institute premises.

The student further added that they have few days to seat for final exams but have not been helped adding that the principal doesn’t deliver services to them claiming that the Institution is in debt.

When contacted on phone, the B.T.I principal Akooki Anyamo confirmed the strike and said that students have several reasons for the striking, however the investigations are still ongoing.
