The Buhweju District Woman Member of Parliament Katwesigye Oliver Koyechenga has come out to show her support towards creating of new administration unities especially cities and districts.
Koyechenga was speaking with our reporter recently, in an exclusive interview at the parliamentary premises in Kampala.
Her comments comes in a time when Parliament is still debating about elevating nine municipalities to regional cities including Gulu, Arua, Fort portal, Mbarara, Lira, Jinja, Entebbe ,Hoima and Mbale.
Koyechenga said the issue of creating new cities has however been slowed down by the East African Parliamentary Games which have seen most parliamentarians get busy and fail to attend all the scheduled Parliamentary sittings.
She asked all the Parliamentarians to support the idea arguing that new administration units bring services closer to the people and even increase on employment opportunities.
On a further note, Koyechenga warned fellow politicians against illegal campaigns arguing that they can visit and consult their voters but should abandon open campaigns until the right time is announced.
