BUNYORO AFFAIRS MINISTER STOPPED FROM VOTING DUE TO LACK OF NATIONAL ID

Bunyoro affairs Minister also Masindi municipality Member of Parliament, Ernest Kiiza, was yesterday stopped from participating in the LC1 elections due to lack of national identity card.
Kiiza was stopped by the voters who turned against him when he failed to present his national Identity card.
Every resident was supposed to present a national identity card before being verified in the voters register but for him he presented a copy of the national ID which was on his whatsapp.
Kiiza was chased away by the angry residents who accused him of wanting to take part in the LC1 elections without a national ID and yet it was one of the main necessities.
After being chased, he came back presented a parliament identity card which was also rejected by the voters who complained to the electoral commission officials.
A voter who spoke on condition of anonymity said that he was disappointed to see the whole minister turning up for LC1 elections without a national ID and yet it was one of the main necessities.
Kiiza was seen stranded while other voters were participating in the elections.
When our reporter reached Kiiza for a comment, he explained that he was with his national Identity card but he didn’t know how it got lost adding that he was not happy with the electoral commission officials and the voters for not allowing him to vote and yet they know him as a resident.
