BUNYORO KING VISITS MASINDI HOSPITAL AHEAD OF 2019 EMPANGO CELEBRATIONS

The King of Bunyoro Kingdom His Majesty Solomon Gafabusa Iguru visited Masindi Hospital yesterday evening a head of the 25th Empango celebration.
The Empango celebrations happens annually on 11th June at the Bunyoro Kingdom Royal Palace in Hoima Municipality in coronation of the King of Bunyoro.
The King also visited the maternity and children ward thus supporting them with bars of soap and other necessities.
The Kingdom Prime Minister Mr. Andrew Byakutaga and also the Minister in charge of Oil and Gas appreciated the effort the Government of Uganda is injecting in Bunyoro Kingdom through the construction of Roads, better health centres, oil exploration and also the construction of Hoima International Airport.
“Every year we collect money through Empango Marathon which helps us to support health centres, this time around the money collected will help in buying medical machines needed at Kiryandongo Hospital,” He added.
He advised the people of Bunyoro to protect the environment through tree planting and protection of swamps as this will help to conserve the nature, He also advised the people of Bunyoro to continue supporting kingdom activities.
The Masindi District Residence District Commissioner (RDC) Mr. Godfrey Nyakahuma thanked the King for being in partnership with the government programs and also added that the security in masindi is guaranteed.
He also added that the government of Uganda has established many hospitals in the region as the way of improving on the health of the citizens, “when the president recently last month visited Masindi he promised to work on Masindi Hospital,” he added
Nyakahuma further more encouraged the people of Bunyoro to work hard as a way of chasing poverty from their families.
While addressing the congregation the Bunyoro Kingdom in charge of Masindi Hospital Hajji Maimood Kazimbiraine said that Masindi Hospital had only ten bedrooms in maternity ward but due to high population they were forced to add more beds.
“Masindi Hospital serves more than two million people and also from neighboring districts such as Buliisa, Kiryandongo and many others,” Hajji Added.
