BUNYORO: NYAKATOGO PUPILS STUDY IN SCHOOL OFFICE AFTER WIND BLOWS OFF CLASSROOM ROOF
By Our Reporter
In Masindi—-
Primary five pupils at Nyakatogo primary school in Pakanyi Sub County Masindi district are studying in one of the school’s offices.
Last month, the hailstorm that hit about three subcounties of Pakanyi, Miirya, and Kiruli didn’t spare the primary five roofs of Nyakatogo primary school.
Michael Musinguzi, the school head teacher, told our reporter that this prompted him to transfer the pupils to one of the school’s offices since the number of learners is small.
He disclosed that they have only ten pupils in primary five, and they are comfortably studying in the office, adding that lessons are being conducted normally since other classroom blocks were not affected.
Musinguzi said that the district engineer came to the school, took measurements, and promised to get back to the school administration.
The Masindi district LCV chairperson, Cosmas Byaruhanga, said that they have already secured iron sheets for the affected school block.
He therefore asks parents and guardians not to withdraw their children from the school but to be patient and cooperate with the school administration in ensuring that the blown-off roof is replaced.
Currently, the school has an enrollment of 200 learners and ten teachers.
