The Bushenyi district Education Officer Saul Rwampororo has today 30th April 2019 warned head teachers who close schools early before official time for end of term.
The DEO sounded the warning in a meeting attended by head teachers and science teachers organized by Uganda Multi-Sectoral Food Security and Nutrition at Bushenyi multipurpose hall aimed at assessing the performance of the project.
Rwampororo noted that some of the schools did exams as early as before Easter which is a hindrance to the completion of the curriculum in time.
David Beinomugisha, the Bushenyi project coordinator urged head teachers to use money meant for nutrition effectively.
Beinomugisha revealed that some head teachers are misusing, embezzling and diverting the money given to them to boast the project.
He warned that if the money is not put to good use, it is likely not to achieve the objective for which it was introduced.
UMFSNP operates in 100 primary schools around Bushenyi district and was introduced with the aim of fighting malnutrition in the district.
This project started in 2016 and it is supposed to last for only 5 years in the district.
