BUSHENYI DISTRICT PLEDGES TO RECONSTRUCT, IMPROVE COLLAPSED NTUNDO BRIDGE

Bushenyi district has pledged to take over the reconstruction and improvement of Ntundo bridge which collapsed early this month.

The bridge that connects Kahungye-Kiyagara parishes in Nyabubare subcounty collapsed leading to series of demonstration by locals citing shoddy work and embezzlement of funds by the contractors.

Speaking at the site the district chairman Jafari Bassajjabalaba assured residents that the district through their engineer are acquiring a 900m/s culverts to be used in the re-construction of the bridge.

He asked the residents to remain calm and united as the district looks for the way to sort their troubles.
