Bushenyi
The Bushenyi district returning officer Godfrey Mbabazi has warned candidates against voter bribery.
Mbabazi was addressing candidates and their Agents in a campaign harmonizing meeting held in Bushenyi District council hall.
The meeting was aimed at clarifying how the candidates shall conduct their campaigns without clashing with each other.
The Returning Officer said that all candidates should be very carefully not to get involved in voter bribery because it means they are digging their own grave.
Mbabazi explained that a bribe of 100,000/= can cause government to make a loss of more than 500 million in re-conducting the election process for an area where voter bribery takes place.
He also asked candidates to coordinate with Electoral Commission and the police during this campaign period which is starting tomorrow and will likely end on 8th January 2021.
