In Bushenyi—
Following yesterdays’ court ruling which forced Bushenyi district chairman Jafari Basajabalaba to sign appointment letters of the district service commission members, he indeed signed them and Two of the three members swore in.
The two,Lydia Rwakishaya, and Julius Ishungisha took oath of office today afternoon and were given letters of appointment signed by the district chairman. CAO Elias Byamungu presided over the swearing in exercise.
Eng. Nathan Behangana will swear in on Monday next week since he was not available today.
The trio will start work on Tuesday according to a brief interview with Lydia Rwakashaya by www.mknewslink.com editor this evening.
As the public service commission and justice Duncan Gaswaga directed, Jafari will nominate more two members to fully constitute the commission.
The Bushenyi district service commission saga started in May last year when the three names were approved by council and forwarded to the public service commission and as well approved but Jafari rejected them.
Later the sitting district chairman Jaffari Bassajjabalaba refused to authorize the three commissioners as he refused to sign the appointment letters sparking a public outcry and numerous court cases, demonstrations as well as locking him outside the district premises.
