BUSHENYI GUNMEN AGAIN; ONE MURDERED

One person was shot dead, as thugs attacked a shop at Kanyambare cell commonly known as ‘aha boarder’, Nshumi parish kyamuhunga sub county.

According to the greater Bushenyi region police spokes person, SP Martial Tumusiime, Sselwanga Mujuni Arthur 38 was shot in throat and died on spot as he tried to attend to an alarm made by Mrs. Fuligensia.

Martial told mknewslink.com that two suspected robbers armed with a gun and a machete, attacked a shop of one Mrs. Fuligensia at around 8:30pm, and robbed her of Ug shs 30,000. Fuligensia made an alarm which attracted Sselwanga to come for her rescue only for him to be shot dead.

By the time police arrived at the scene, the suspects had already taken off but the investigations are ongoing according to Martial.

The body of the deceased was taken to Kampala international teaching
hospital for a postmortem.

Martial noted that, the police have transport problems which have greatly affected their operations due to delay.

He told mknewslink.com that Bushenyi police don’t have a vehicle since theirs involved in an accident and no replacement despite notifying the authorities. He added that they don’t even have fuel.

He however appealed to the public to always have contacts of their nearby police stations and notify them instead of calling the regional police.He thus assured the public to remain calm as police is doing its work.

Armed robbery has become rampant in the area which has left the residents in a state of fear.
