Bushenyi Ishaka municipal council has appealed against a judgement by three senior staff challenging their interdiction both in 2018 and 2020.
According to the town clerk Bushenyi Ishaka Municipal council David Tweheyo Betega, the appeal is already lodged in the court of appeal in Mbarara challenging the judgement of Justice Flavian Zeija.
Speaking to www.mknewslink.com managing editor ,the new town clerk noted that the criminal cases preferred against the three are going on well and they are nearing conclusion.
The affected staff include the senior engineer Deus Nuwagaba, procurement officer Rorbeto Nuwagira and treasurer Jackson Muhwezi Beyendenza.
Delivering his judgement on Tuesday, Justice Dr. Flavian Zeija said that the 3 officials were put through a lot of inconveniences both psychologically and physically by going to the court to prevent the alleged illegalities.
He said they were unsettled at the prospect of loosing jobs without being accorded a right to be heard thus ruled that 20 million shillings be awarded to each of the two applicants and 30 million shillings to Eng. Deus Nuwagaba due to the fact that his car was vandalized.
Justice Zeija also issued an injunction restraining Bushenyi Ishaka municipal officials from implementing illegalities of the municipal council.
