BUSHENYI- ISHAKA MUNICIPALITY RESIDENTS WORRIED OVER GARBAGE

Most streets, corridors in Ishaka and Kizinda towns in Bushenyi Ishaka municipality are choking with garbage that has not been collected for several weeks.
Large heaps of garbage are located near homes and business premises like shops, restaurants, clinics and markets.
Areas visited by our reporter include Kisenyi, the corridor near Crane radio, Ruteda Herbal clinic, BB health Centre and Radiology clinic, at the entrance of former Ishaka Taxi Park at Kabirisi road, Kizinda market and other areas in Kizinda town.
Some people have continued dumping garbage everywhere even where there are warning notices of tough action to discipline anyone caught in this act.
Locals say they have cried for help from authorities but the situation has persisted leaving them with no help but to resort at dumping it anywhere.
Oliva Musimenta, a business lady in Kizinda town, says that they collect garbage in one place but it takes over weeks before garbage collectors come for it.
Apollo Matsiko, also a resident of Kizinda town alleges that municipal authorities have no enough places where to dump it and urged people to take responsibility of the garbage for them to live in a clean environment for the greatest good of their health.
Didas Muhanguzi, Deputy town clerk Bushenyi Ishaka municipality says that they have a problem of one garbage truck that serves all divisions with the municipality and urged locals to maintain sanitation and preserve the environment as well.
