Mbarara resident judge Justice Allan Nshimye has set Feb. 28, 2024 as the day when he will deliver a judgement in a land case where Mrs Jane Rushegyera accuses her step mother mrs Katukura of selling part of family land to Prof. Ellie Katunguka the VC Kyambogo university.
Justice Nshimye revealed this today Nov. 30, 2023 in Nyakabirizi division in Bushenyi district when he visited the contested land to finalize hearing of the case.
Mrs Jane Rushegyera is represented by senior counsel Paul Tusubira whereas the defense team is represented by Dr. Benson Tusasirwe and Counsel Muhimbura.
Prof. Katunguka constructed a specious home at the land but the plaintiff mrs Rushegyera wants court to give her 5 acres out of 49 total land as her share since she is the daughter of late Katukura.
When justice Nshimye asked Tusubira when he is ready to make submissions and later judgement, he told him 7 days from today.
The judge said that is quite Short time because he has over 100 cases that need judgement hence setting Feb. 28, 2024 for judgement.
