BUSHENYI LIGHTNING VICTIMS LAID TO REST, LOCALS URGED TO INSTALL LIGHTNING ARRESTORS

Five people who were struck by lightning yesterday in Nyanga Bitooma Kyamuhunga as they plucked tea have been laid to rest today.
Atemerireho innocent aged 17, Akankunda Nickson 13 both sons of Bagyenyi David from Konyo cell, Byamukama Justus, a son to Asiimwe Robert from Nyakashojwa village, Shallot Tuhwereirwe, a grandchild to Paul Kahurutuka also from Nyakashojwa village and a 50years, Elisam Tayebwa from Nyakatembe village, Nyanga ward, Bitooma parish were all stricken by lightening yesterday during a heavy downpour when they were plucking tea.
A joint prayer to say bye to the victims was held at Nyanga Primary school.
The Nombe Archdeacon Rev Joel Asiimwe told the relatives of the deceased to remain strong and keep believing in God as he is the one who gives and takes.
The area MP Hon Raphael Magyezi appealed to all tea factory owners to start installing lightening arrestors at tea collecting centers and in their homes as the way of preventing such calamities.
After the prayers, the bodies of the deceased were in taken to their respective homes to be laid to rest in.
