BUSHENYI: MOTA ENGIL CONSTRUCTION COMPANY SPEAKS OUT ON KYABUGIMBI KILLING BY UPDF SOLDIER

Mota Engil Uganda has come out to refute allegations by the media that the shooting of a civilian by UPDF officer in Kyabugimbi Bushenyi district took place at their stone quarry site.
Through a press statement signed by the management , Mota Engil a construction company contracted by Uganda National Roads Authority to work on Ishaka Katunguru road clarified that the incident took place at Mukacence trading centre but not at their stone quarry.
“The incident took place at Mukacence trading centre which is located 3kms from the Kyabugimbi stone quarry. The late Tumuheirwe was shot by a UPDF soldier attached to secure our stone quarry in Kyabugimbi Bushenyi district who reportedly left his duty post on yet to be known mission in the neighborhood,” reads part of the press statement.
The construction company noted that the matter is under investigations by UPDF thus asked the public to remain calm and allow officers to carry out thorough investigations so that the culprit can be brought to book.
Mota Engil added that it continues to call for good relationship with the surrounding communities as usual and conveyed their condolences to the family ,relatives and people who were touched by the death of Vicent Tumuheirwe.
