BUSHENYI POLICE ARREST 28 STUDENTS OF BUMBAIRE TECHNICAL INSTITUTE

Bushenyi police have arrested 28 students of Bumbaire technical institute after a warrant of arrest issued by Bushenyi grade one magistrate Asanasias Mukobe on allegations of beating an institute’s neighbor.
The victim has been identified as Allan Ariho who was by students beaten almost to coma on 6th April.2019 and the hospital declared his leg lame.
According to greater Bushenyi police spokes person Martial Tumusiime, students beat up Ariho almost to coma after suspecting him to have stolen phones from girls’ dormitory.
The students were arrested yesterday 22nd Nov 2019 immediately after they refused to appear in court and the grade one magistrate Mukobe issued warrant which was affected immediately by police.
PRO Martial accused their instructor Rwekisheije Kelesensio aka Murambata for stopping students from appearing in court yesterday which eventually resulted into warrant of arrest.
Among the arrested students include three girls; Meronia Kemigisha, Agnes Natukunda and Justine Natamba.
Martial Tumusiime identified boys as Marvin Kamugisha, Igan Mwesigwa, Gilbert Ahabwe,Benjamin kiiza, Norman Katwesigye, Boris Ndyatunga, Innocent Kushaba, Osbert Oyesigye, Brighton Aryatuha, Benson Nduhura, Philimon Turyasingura,Clinton Mwije, Gift Edgar.
Others are Blair Tumwekwatse, Onesmus Anebyoona,Obed Niwagaba, Isaac Atwijukire,Innocent Tumwesigye,Wilis Arinaitwe, Edmond Twinoburyo,Martin Kansiime, Norman Nasasiira,Ronald Nemanzi, Bruce Amanyire, and Benson Ninsima.
Martial noted that they will appear in court on Monday to answer the charges that will be brought against them. Parents of the students camped at Bushenyi police to agree on their release but they were still waiting for the victim and complainant to negotiate and compensate him.
