BUSHENYI POLICE REFUSE TO RELEASE RELATIVES OF LATE MZEE MBYEMAIRE DESPITE RESIDENTS STORMING STATION

Despite storming of Greater Bushanyi police station by Kyanamira and Rwenjeru Residents in Nyakabirizi division demanding release of two suspects after the death of Mzee Mbyemeire who was neglected by his family, police refused to release the two until state attorney sets them free.
The two who are charged with murder are Joseph Turihamwe the relative of the deceased and the bar operate and new wife of the deceased.
Mzee started staying with the new wife after his original family members led by his daughter Godlive Nayebare demolished his house and built another but started abusing the father [deceased] from the new house. He sought refuge in Rwenjeru trading center and married the bar attendant.
RDC Bushenyi Robert Atuhairwe and police leadership held a closed door meeting with leaders of residents led by LC111 chairman Nyakabirizi Nyansio Biryomumaisha.
After the closed door meeting, the RPC Greater Bushenyi gave a chance LC111 chairman Nyansio to communicate the resolutions of the meeting.

Mr. Nyansio told the demonstrators that since two suspects are charged with murder, they cant be given bond.
He added that they agreed that police finishes investigations this weekend and then the file is sent to state attorney on Monday next week and then gives way forward.

When the editor called her back, she refused to pick his calls.
The demonstrators were warned by police not to destroy property of the old family of Late Mzee Mbyemeire.
