In Bushenyi—
The differences between the Bushenyi Resident district commissioner Jane Asiimwe Muhindo and West Ankole Civil Society Forum which had run for one week on social media has come to an end.
The differences were resolved yesterday in a reconciliatory meeting chaired by Chairman Jaffari Bassajabala at Peak hotel in Bushenyi town.
The civil society had accused the RDC of not working and failing to follow up corrupt district officials.
The RDC answered earlier that when she is not in office, her deputy Loy Namara is always there and in case Namara is absent, the DISO John Sewanyana or his deputy Kaliisa must be there.
The RDC and civil society members pledged to work together and cease the fire that had erupted a week ago.
The reconciliatory meeting was attended by Apollo Lee Kakonge the CEO for West Ankole civil society forum WACSOF, senior counsel Julius Turinawe, the RDC and her staff.
In a Whatsapp message posted today morning on Citizen report card group, the RDC revealed that she was extremely happy and enjoyed the tea at the meeting suggesting that such tea meetings should be held quarterly and they also engage businessmen and other stakeholders.
WASCOF is a very vibrant forum that has made tremendous developments and changes among corrupt technical staff in the region.
The most recent one is the Bushenyi Ishaka municipal corrupt senior staff where the minister of local government was forced to come to the municipality which resulted into interdiction of three senior staff; the treasurer, procurement officer and the engineer.
The forum is currently investigating corruption within a world bank funded project Agriculture Cluster Development Project .
