BUSHENYI RESIDENTS DEMAND JAFARI BASAJABALABA TO FORGIVE KAHIIGI COURT COSTS

Residents of Bushenyi district have appealed to the district chairman;Jafari Basajjabalaba to forgive his former main challenger in 2016 election; Paul Kahiigi of the Forum for Democratic change.
After losing the election to Basajjabalaba, Kahiigi challenged the results in High court that also ruled in favour of Basajjabalaba as the winner.
Kahiigi still was not satisfied with the judgment thus petitioning Court of Appeal where he also lost the case and was ordered to pay costs to Jafari Basajjabalaba.
During the burial of late George Tibakuna in Kakanju sub-county on Wednsday, the mourners asked Jafari Basajjabalaba to forgive Kahiigi and exonerate him from the court costs the betterment of Bushenyi district.
In his response, Basajjabalaba said if Kahiigi has financial trauma, he will forgive him because he doesn’t want him to die in prison.
According to court records Kaihiigi is supposed to pay Ug.sh 196m before taxation. The taxing process is not yet over.
