In Bushenyi—-
Teachers under their umbrella Uganda National Teachers Union Bushenyi
branch have come out to express their concerns over the district
education department failure to mark and release Mock Examination
results.
UNATU has proved that all the Head teachers in the District paid Mock
fees for their candidates on the District Account as early as June
2018 & in full amounts and sat mock in early August.
Speaking to journalists Alex Musinguzi the chairman UNATU said Mock
was supposed to be marked & results released before the end of Term
II, to be put on student’s report cards for that term and Mock papers
were to be revised early enough to prepare for UNEB exams.
Musinguzi said as teachers they called upon the District to release
funds to the education sector to call examiners to mark the mock as
soon as possible.
They have given the district education department a four days
ultimatum to release mock results or else they will mobilize parents
and raid the district headquarters demanding exams for marking.
Musinguzi asked District Local Government stop vice of diverting mock
fees to their council allowances or any other expenditure.
He advised all Head teachers under their Association with
the supervision of the CAO, DEO & DISO to solicit mock funds & manage
the exams, games &sports themselves as they do in other Districts and
Municipalities.
However DEO Bushenyi district Saul Rwampororo refuted the allegations
that they diverted money into their businesses saying by next week
mock results will be out.
Over 4590 pupils paid shs.5000 for both printing and marking examination.
