In Bushenyi—
Bushenyi Chief Magistrate’s court has today dismissed a case in which Dr. Davis Asiimwe the In charge Kabwohe H/C IV is accused of assaulting a TV West journalist Sheikh Abdurahtif and maliciously damaging his property.
Bushenyi chief magistrate Jane Mugala has dismissed the two counts on ground that Sheikh Abdulahatif did not report the case in time.
Mugala also accused Sheikh the complainant of not exhibiting the camera which was allegedly damaged by Dr. Davis Asiimwe.
Speaking to www.mknewslink.com after court, Sheikh said that he will appeal to high court because the chief magistrate was so biased that she even blocked journalists from covering court session.
He added that the doctor first met the magistrate in the morning at her Chambers and they discussed at length after which she told him to come at 3pm for the judgment but never told Sheikh the complainant and his team.
The doctor who was granted bail skipped court many times and court released warrant of arrest two times.
The Managing Director of www.mknewslink.com Mr. Wilber Muhwezi Kasibante condemned the magistrate’s act of blocking journalists from covering the court session adding that this shows that she had a hidden agenda.
Kasibante added that we will work hard with the complainant to ensure that the appeal is done and justice sought.
