BUSHENYI WOMAN ARRESTED FOR DUMPING BIOLOGICAL CHILD INTO PIT LATRINE

Police in Bushenyi are holding a 20 year old girl for dumping her newly born baby into a pit latrine.
The suspect is Moreen Nyakato a daughter to Johnson Baijuka a resident of Mino village Kibare parish Bumbaire sub County Bushenyi district.
According to police, Moreen delivered a child on 21st Apirl.2019 and dumped her in a pit latrine.
SP Martial Tumusiime the Greater Bushenyi police spokesperson noted that when residents realized on 25th.Apirl.2019 that Moreen was no more pregnant, they decided to task her to explain only to tell them she had dumped the baby into a pit latrine.
He said that Police was informed; it had to retrieve the body and hand it over for burial.
Moreen is currently detained at Bushenyi police station on charges of infanticide.
